PUBLICATIONS AND REVIEWS

  • Activating Petwo’s Kinesthetic Imagination: Dancing Revolution and Forging Lakou” [2016]; a collaborative publication in Women & Performance: a journal of feminist theory

  • The Performance version of “Activating Petwo’s Kinesthetic Imagination: Dancing Revolution and Forging Lakou” has also received great reviews by critic in the Artforum in March 2016

Besides performing, choreographing, and teaching locally and internationally, my professional experience also includes singing in a choir that performed songs from the continent: “The Africa Choir” at the University of Florida. I also performed in a gospel choir in Gainesville called “Hillel” . Furthermore, I have written and directed three full productions: Haiti and Its Mother Africa, I and II , and the Haiti Project.

I am also the creator and director of a yearly dance summer intensive program in Haiti called “Grand’Anse il faut Bouger”, going on its third year.

AfrikAyiti is also a personal project with the objective of bridging Contemporary Haiti to Contemporary Africa. I do this through many different types of action, and by always associating Africa to with Haiti in my work. I also travel to both Haiti and Africa to teach and perform, and promote collaborations between Haitian and African Artists.
